Sponsored Walk in Richmond Park

A sponsored walk will be taking place on with Br Shubhamrita Chaitanya to raise funds for our Beloved Amma's Visit in November 2010.

We welcome walkers, supporters, sponsors and helpers to create a fun
day for kids, families and adults alike. Please encourage sponsorship
from your friends and well-wishers as the more we raise for the visit
the more we can give to Amma's charities.

We will also be holding a raffle on the day and a potluck lunch so do
bring snacks and drinks to share with the group and relax with after
the walk. The route is 5km long (optional, if you want, two rounds for
10km!). We plan to gather near Richmond gate. Further details of the
route to follow soon.

Heartfelt donations towards Amma's visit costs

Monthly contributions are still increasing and now stand at more than £10,000 but, as the heart shows, we still have a long way to go to reach the goal. We would like to encourage as many devotees as possible to donate the equivalent of an hour's wages each month (12 hours through the year) through a standing order. (This one hour donated can also be carried out as a spiritual practice.)

If you would like to participate in this initiative, please use the following forms from the UK website for a Standing Order Mandate, to send to your bank, and a Gift Aid Declaration which will enable us to claim the tax back on your donation. You may also set up the standing order directly through online banking, though it is still important to send the Gift Aid Declaration to the Treasurer. There has been an encouraging response to our efforts to raise funds in advance of Amma's visit. Many more are still required if we are to reach our aim of meeting the visit costs so that that all funds raised during Amma's visit, from food sales and other purchases, can go to beneift Amma's charities directly.

Most of us have been lucky enough to experience being in Amma's physical presence, receive her embrace, and be inspired and guided by her teachings. One of Amma's main teachings is to encourage us do what we can to express love through selfless action.
